Prehistories

As the leader of a prehistoric tribe, you'll guide your people to a successful hunt and create a thriving community. In Prehistories, you'll simultaneously bid on hunting locations with your fellow tribe leaders, balancing the risks and rewards of sending more or fewer hunters. The more hunters you send, the larger the game you can catch, but the slower you'll be to act. If you succeed, you'll collect animal tiles, but beware - injured hunters may reduce your future hunting capabilities, as the tribe's trust in your leadership is shaken. You may need to re-evaluate your strategy to avoid being seen as a leader who puts their tribe in harm's way.

Once you've hunted, you'll use the animal tiles to create a representational artwork on a 7x7 grid, following specific rules to create a vibrant cave art scene. As you add tiles, you'll need to think ahead to fulfill the Elders' challenges and earn totem tokens. Challenges might include completing horizontal lines, connecting corners, or surrounding legendary animals, requiring you to balance short-term goals with long-term strategy.

The first player to discard eight totem tokens wins, having proven themselves a worthy leader and creator. With a combination of strategic hunting and artistic vision, you'll need to outmaneuver your opponents to emerge victorious and secure your place as the tribe's leader. By doing so, you'll ensure the prosperity and success of your tribe.
